Automated Enforcement Deployment

EFFECTIVE March 01 to March 31 (inclusive)

In response to community needs identified through statistical analysis, collisions, and citizen concerns during the month, Photo Radar will continue to target Deerfoot Trail (north and south), as well as Sarcee Trail, Glenmore Trail and Crowchild Trail.

Photo Radar will continue to target:

  • other high speed high volume roadways
  • construction
  • school and playground zones

within the city.

The Intersection Safety Cameras will be deployed at 47 of 47 intersections throughout the city, monitoring motorists who fail to stop for red lights. These cameras continue to promote safety and awareness in motorists at intersections.

Intersection Safety Cameras equipped with Speed on Green software will continue to target speeding vehicles at 12 intersections.

Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully, slow down, and share the road safely.

Speed on Green

Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully, slow down, and stop for yellow and red traffic lights. Be aware of roadway conditions, as they may be slippery; leave room for other vehicles and drive safely. Provincial guidelines, for Automated Enforcement, are available on the Government of Alberta website or the Calgary Police Service Web Site; click on Traffic Safety, and the Specialized Traffic Enforcement Unit links.

Speed on Green

Intersection Safety Cameras

Intersection Safety Camera Locations

The Intersection Safety Camera program consists of more than 40 intersections monitored by cameras throughout the City of Calgary; in a continuing effort to promote safety and awareness in motorists at intersections. The Intersection Safety Cameras will be rotated into intersections that have experienced increases in collisions and violation rates.
