If you own a drone or Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), be aware of safety and privacy regulations. Unsafe flying can pose serious risks to people, property and aircrafts.
Flying drones legally
Rules around drone usage in Calgary are set by Transport Canada and The City of Calgary’s Parks and Pathways Bylaw.
Control Zones
YYC Calgary International Airport and YBW Springbank Airport are strict No Drone Zones. This means drones are prohibited within 3.5 nautical miles (6.5 km) of the airport centre, and one nautical mile (1.8 km) of any heliport.
