Power Play is a free, weekly program that provides children and youth (ages six to 17) the chance to learn and play hockey and soccer with Calgary Police Service officers in a safe and supportive environment.
What is Power Play?
Power Play helps to foster trust and understanding between the police and members of diverse and marginalized communities while helping to make sport accessible to those who may not have ready access to recreational sport.
Power Play is fully funded by the Calgary Police Youth Foundation – a registered charity focused on keeping children and youth in Calgary and area safe from victimization and crime. To learn more, visit the Calgary Police Youth Foundation website.
Power Play serves approximately 70 to 120 children and youth per week throughout both the hockey and soccer season. Power Play Hockey runs on Wednesday evenings from October to March at the Max Bell arena, while Power Play soccer runs from May to August at the Bottomlands Park soccer fields.
