Make a real impact – Join the Calgary Police Service (CPS) Youth Advisory Board!

Are you passionate about making Calgary safer and more inclusive for young people? The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) gives you a direct voice with the Calgary Police Service.

Previous YAB members have achieved incredible things. Here are some of the highlights from the last board:

Successes and initiatives:

Cocoa with a Cop - The YAB helped create and successfully launch this popular event series in 2026. Youth gathered in a relaxed setting to connect with officers over hot chocolate, share their ideas on safety, and build positive relationships. The pilot event was a huge success, and the new board will continue hosting more Cocoa with a Cop events across Calgary.

Presence at CPS Town Halls - YAB members actively participated in CPS Town Halls, bringing youth voices and perspectives directly into important community conversations.

Representation on the CPS Superboard - Several YAB members served on the CPS External Diversity Superboard, contributing to broader strategies alongside other advisory groups.

YOUth Matter initiative – In 2026, the YAB kicked-off the new YOUth Matter initiative. This project focuses on amplifying youth voices on issues that matter to young Calgarians. The incoming board will play a major role in shaping and leading this important new program.

These accomplishments show the real influence the Youth Advisory Board has — from organizing community events to helping guide the future direction of the Calgary Police Service.
